Meet Chung
Born to Korean parents, Chung went to school in Sydney before completing his medical degree at UNSW and surgical training at a number of hospitals around Australia, eventually settling in his wife’s hometown of Brisbane. Between raising a young family, Chung has a busy schedule of procedures performed across multiple Brisbane hospitals including the PA, QEII, Mater Public, Mater Private and Greenslopes Private, as well as being a senior lecturer at the University of Queensland.

Bariatric Surgery
Sometimes referred to as Weight Loss Surgery, Bariatric Surgery is the process of surgically reducing the size of the stomach as a means to reduce the risks of medical problems associated with Obesity, such as Type 2 Diabetes and Heart Disease.
General Surgery
General Surgery deals with surgery relating to issues such as Stomach Cancer, Hernia, Reflux and Gallstones. These procedures are typically performed via keyhole surgery (laparoscopically) to allow for speedy recovery times.
Upper GI Surgery
Upper Gastro Intestinal surgery is treatment for diseases relating to the parts of the body that deal with digestion. This includes the oesophagus, stomach, small intestine, large intestine, rectum, liver, gallbladder and the pancreas.
